Brasilia, Brazil - Costa Rica attempts to continue its Cinderella run at the World Cup when the Ticos tangle with the Netherlands at the Arena Fonte Nova. Randy Jones Jersey . Listen to the game live starting at 4pm et/1pm pt on TSN 1050, TSN 690, TSN 1200, and TEAM 1410. Costa Rica reached the last eight for the first time after topping Greece in penalty kicks in the round of 16, while the Dutch are attempting to reach back-to-back World Cup semifinals for the first time since 1974 and 1978. The Ticos were viewed as outsiders in Group D, which included Italy, England and Uruguay, but after claiming seven points to win that group, Jorge Luis Pintos team came up against a stubborn Greek side making its first-ever knockout-round appearance. Bryan Ruiz scored early in the second half to put Costa Rica in front, but after defender Oscar Duarte received a second yellow card in the 66th minute, Pintos team spent much of the remainder of the match defending. They almost got over the line, but Sokratis Papastathopoulos scored for Greece in stoppage time, forcing the match into extra time and ultimately penalty kicks. But Costa Rica survived the ordeal to win 5-3 in the shootout, showing the resilience the team has exhibited throughout the tournament. "It was a dramatic match, a very difficult one," Pinto said after the game with Greece. "There were moments when we dominated the match but there were other moments when they did but we were strong and we came through." If Costa Rica is going to continue its journey, the team is going to have to be even stronger against the favored Dutch, who have won all four of their games at this World Cup. The team trailed 1-0 against Mexico in the round of 16 entering the final five minutes, but Wesley Sneijder fired home the equalizer a few minutes from time before Arjen Robben drew a foul inside the penalty area, allowing Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to fire home the winning goal from the spot. Louis van Gaals side has made a habit of coming back in Brazil as the team has given up the first goal in three of its four games so far, only to rally for the win each time. "I think we are on a mission together, and when you come to a World Cup its not to enjoy the weather and enjoy the beach in Rio," said Robben, who has tallied three goals and an assist so far. "Youre here to win matches and to go as far as possible. I dont think the expectations were that high before the tournament and, as a result, we can be very proud of where we are." The Dutch found themselves in a tough group with Spain, Chile and Australia, but after winning all three games to sit atop the group, the Oranje have a great chance at making another deep run. Things have come together nicely for the Dutch as the team ended up with a pair of teams from CONCACAF in its first two knockout-round games, making Van Gaals men favorites to reach the last four. But Robben isnt looking too far past the Ticos, especially since the team has already toppled favored sides like Italy and Uruguay. "I think theyre a very strong team. We have to stay focused," Robben told FIFA.com. "Costa Rica have a very good team, they have already proved that in their group, which was very tough, with Italy, England and Uruguay in there. Theyve been really impressive and well have to prepare very well if were going to beat them." One player who wont be available to Van Gaal the rest of the tournament is midfielder Nigel de Jong, who was forced off the field against Mexico after nine minutes because of a groin injury. Costa Rica will be a bit shorthanded in defense after Duartes red card, while Roy Miller is unlikely to be fit in time to face the Dutch because of a foot injury. Pintos team will once again embrace the role of underdogs, and although they have made history already in Brazil, dont expect the Ticos to be content. "We respect the Netherlands, just as we respect all our rivals, but the story goes on and were hungry for more," Pinto said. Wil Myers Jersey . Obasi chested the ball past one defender, prodded it past another and then rounded the keeper before scoring from a tight angle in the 16th minute. Seconds after the restart, Obasi set up Klaas Jan Huntelaar for the Dutchmans 11th goal from 13 games this season. SAN ANTONIO -- Tony Parker and Tim Duncan provided the San Antonio Spurs with the physical and emotional lift they needed on the second night of back-to-back games. Parker scored 25 points and Duncan had 16 points and 13 rebounds, and San Antonio never trailed, cruising past the Dallas Mavericks 112-90 Wednesday night. Both teams were on the second night of a back-to-back, with San Antonio winning in overtime at Memphis and the Mavericks topping the Los Angeles Lakers in Dallas. Parker got off to a hot start despite playing 40 minutes Tuesday night, and finished 10 for 15 from the field with seven assists in 29 minutes. "When I woke up this morning, obviously everything hurts and you feel like youre 45 years old and think about Man, I should not play in the summer, " Parker said. "But it worked out. We played great. We had good energy." The Spurs turned to Marco Belinelli with super sub Manu Ginobili unable to play after straining his left hamstring against the Grizzlies. After starting 11 consecutive games, Belinelli had 17 points, going 3 for 5 on 3-pointers as a reserve. Kawhi Leonard added 12 points and Patty Mills scored 11 for San Antonio (28-8), which recaptured the Western Conferences best record ahead of Oklahoma City (27-8). Monta Ellis had 21 points and Vince Carter added 14. No other player scored in double figures as the Mavericks (20-16) lost their seventh straight to the Spurs. Dirk Nowitzki was limited to eight points, shooting 3 for 14 and making his only two free throw attempts while engaged in a physical battle with Boris Diaw. "(Boris) did all the little things out there and did an excellent job on Dirk," Duncan said. "He gave us a chance to get some space in the game and control Dirk without having to double team him and that was a big advantage for us." Duncan also provided a huge lift, going 5 for 8 from the field and picking up 10 defensive rebounds and blocking two shots. He also helped lift his teammates spirits. The Spurs outrebounded the Mavericks 55-32. "The rebounding killed us all night long," Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said. "We were down 36-18 at halftime and thats just not good enough." Duncan grabbed five rebounds and Leonard had four in the first 7 minutes of the game, as San Antonio took advantage of Dallas undersized lineup. Duncan, Leonard and Boris Diaw had 11 points and 12 rebounds to open the game. The lack of rebounding was made worse by the Mavericks woeful shooting. They were 6 for 24 in the first 10 minutes while falling behind 23-12. With Shawn Marion missing the game due to a bruised right shoulder he hurt against the Lakers, Parker had a series of jumpers over Wayne Ellington to open the second half. He scored eight of the Spurs 10 points as they took a 55-42 lead 3 minutes into the third quarter. "He made a bunch of shots," Carlisle said. "He really diced up whoever was guarding him. Our team didnt do a good job. The third quarter was a demolition." Belinelli had five consecutive points, including his first 3-pointer, in putting San Antonio up 76-59 with 1:20 left in the third quarter. He missed a free throw following the 3 after being fouled by Carter. He scored seven consecutive points to give San Antonio a 93-68 lead with 8 minutes remaining. "I was happy to sit in the fourth quarter tonight," Parker said. "Especially after last night, playing 40 minutes; it was a long time. So I was happy this time." NOTES: Ginobili was a late scratch, missing his second game of the season, but first due to injury. ... Spurs television analyst Sean Elliott fell off his stool after Duncan playfully gave him a two-handed slap in the back during pregame warm-ups. Elliott, preparing for the teams local pre-game show, groaned loudly and laughed as Duncan sprinted off smiling as he tossed in a layup. Duncan returned to torment his former teammate during a timeout, crumpling and tossing Elliotts notes and water bottle at him. ... Former San Antonio centre DeJuan Blair received mostly boos when he was introduced in Dallas starting lineup, but there was a smattering of applause.
